The secret is revealed! The cosplay costumes I was making for this years Animethon 16 convention and cosplay contest were Suzaku as the Knight of Zero and Emperor Lelouch. The two characters in Zero's Requiem. I am featuring Suzaku and my Original is Lelouch.

Omg, this cosplay took FOREVER to make! But it was so worth it. The cloak itself took me about 4 months to make due to the extensive amount of detail on it and the piloting outfit took about 1-2 months to make. Everything you see me wearing I made myself, cloak, boots, gloves (damn there are a lot of small pieces involved in those), piloting suit, everything. Hence 5 months of sewing for 1 cosplay costume.

I can tell you now that the cloak is one of the most fun things to wear ever. Because I make the fabric out of two satins that have a great deal of body to them, the cloak billows epically when you walk and the shoulders are really wide making you feel uber noble when you wear it.

All in all, between the two costumes I believe I made just under 27 meters of yellow bias tape. I can tell you now, that I dislike bias tape... at least for the next 2 weeks.....Grrrrr so much bias tape. However, while I learned that I don't like bias tape, I did learn that I still really love to applique (which is a good thing considering these two cosplays are almost completely made of applique) and I love something called flex-i-ferm. It's the stiffest double sided fusible interfacing I've ever found and it works wonders to hold up that hood, shoulders and one of the collars on my piloting suit (that's right, there's more then one). I'm not even going to go into how much yellow thread I used between these two costumes cause I lost count of how many empty 500 meter spools I threw out at 6.

I have to say that my favourite thing on the two costumes is the two long back panels on my cloak. I don't know why but I love how the applique came out the the bead work at the bottom of them. Lol too bad there on the back so I don't actually get to see them. But on a good note, my Original and I were awarded second place in the expert division of the cosplay contest this year with our cosplay so were both pretty pleased with that ^^ *high fives Original*

Oh and apparently I look really natural with short brown hair. So many people thought I had cut my hair... no it's still long and red lol. Don't worry.

Okay I'll stop my rambling right now, but first I need to mention that my Original was the one to put together the awesome collages for me and that my friend Taisa was the one to take the majority of the pictures. Both of you are AWESOME!
